EIGHT WHEEL SHOW - VHS 1991 The first full length roller skating video

Arguably the first ever full length roller skating video: The Eight Wheel Show.

Released on VHS in 1991 by René Hulgreen, the film has now been remastered and uploaded online for the first time.

More than just a vert video, it captures a moment when quad skating was pushing the limits of what action sports could look like. In the late 80s and early 90s, a new generation of skaters, many of them from Europe, took the foundations of the Californian pool style and launched it into something more aggressive and technical. The level is wild even by today’s standards. Huge airs, advanced grinds, impossible grabs, powerful lines, and skaters charging the ramp at full speed. Style, commitment, creativity, and the courage to go higher every session.

The Eight Wheel Show is not just a document of vert skating at its peak. It’s a reminder that roller skaters helped write an important chapter in the history of modern action sports.
